The autistic pencil artist Casey Remrov Vormer has won the first edition of the AUMAA Awards 2024. An award that celebrates the talent and creativity of autistic artists. After the news that he won the award, he went speechless and shared that he was very happy that he won the award.

Origin of the award:
Origin of the award: The AUMAA Awards were founded in 2023 by the autistic rapper Attie HZ. The AUMAA Awards are the first and largest global Autistic Arts awards in the world. The purpose of the award is to support upcoming autistic talent and foster the careers of these autistic individuals. Nominations take place annually in December. And the winner goes home with a trophy.

Attie HZ experienced that the doors were kept close, and that there wasn’t much support for autistic artists. With the AUMAA awards the autistic artist can receive recognition for their creative talents.

The winner
Casey Vormer makes very detailed photo-realistic drawings of citystructures and animals. Winning an award is not new to the Montreal-based pencil artist because he has won an INAP award before representing Canada as an artist. Casey sells his artwork on his website under the name Remrov’s Artwork.

Before winning the award Casey had the competition of two other nominees. Casey kept the rapper Black Soultan and the Singer Henry behind them. Both of them don’t have unsuccessful careers at all. Black Soultan participated in the TV program Soultrain and HENRY has participated in the talent show Autism’s Got Talent. The AUMAA Awards appreciates the artwork of all nominees and encourages the participants to continue their artistic journey.
